We’re looking for an experienced CNC Operator with a background in woodworking and a solid understanding of machine setup, CAD/CAM programming and blueprint reading. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in quality control and confident operating CNC milling machines and lathes in a production setting.
What you will do
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning
- Perform quality control checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as milling machines and lathes
Requirements
- A wood working background is preferred
- Ability to use CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and using measuring tools such as micrometers
- Knowledge of programming logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus
- 3 years previous experience operating CNC machines is preferred
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
- Must be reliable and have reliable transportation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations
